Not strictly business cards, but riding clubs and horse associations often need a club logo on their products. With this in mind, and having designed our bridleways group logo many years ago, I opened a new store called simply Riding Club. Equally though, these could be changed to suit an equestrian business.
The products comprise tee and sweatshirts, mugs, hats, membership cards, stickers and a fairly new product, lightweight signs which are perfect for marking the location of your horse event, or placing on the road to warn drivers that there are horses ahead.
All can be customised with your organizations name. So far I have five category logos: dressage, show jumping, cross country and eventing, a cantering horse, and a photo of a horse's head in a graphic of a horseshoe. The first four are all stylised outlines of horses, in both black and white versions, and all the background colours are customizable.
Other logo designs could be available on request, or the existing ones on other products.

A lovely set of business cards for vet and pet services with black silhouettes of cats and dog, and two very nicely photographed cat and dog. The silhouette cards are with two colour variations, green and light blue, and one with orange stripes. Some of the cards are set up for animal rescue services, but any of them could be personalized for another animal business.

Gift certificates for Christmas
Many businesses think of giving gift certificates, and I came across these lovely tasteful cards on Zazzle. Suitable for absolutely any business, available on business cards and postcards, and beautifully and professionally designed with Christmas baubles and ribbons, some with a spiralling ribbon in the shape of a Christmas tree, with space to write a person's name, date and expiry date and amount. In a variety of colour themes.

Dog themed business card templates
It's a while since I've included any dog-related cards, so here is my updated range, with a pair of vintage Jack Russell terriers, perhaps for breeders, and some of my own mixed breed hound who can really turn on the pathos! He could be very suitable for petsitters or dog walkers. There is a photo of him digging in a mole hill, so for a bit of fun I thought that might make a molecatcher's card. Another shows him helping himself to rosehips - perfect for healthy pet food businesses! A very hairy sheepdog with hair over it's eyes which makes a dog grooming card with a bit of humour. A vintage Jack Russell photographed with a bandaged eye and leg for vets and animal hospitals, and one of another dog looking a bit mean and nervous, for behaviour specialists and trainers. Lastly a terrier and puppy playing tug with a rubber bone, for sellers of supplies and toys, or perhaps doggy day care. Of course, any of these can be used for any canine business. Both of these images link to the same collection.

Wine and beer business card collection
Wine and beer business cards |
It's always the right time of year for wine, but especially so coming up to the holiday season. Perhaps you sell wine door to door, have an off-sales or off-license shop or store, or an importer. Whether a special collector's vintage bordeaux or a table rosé, or even for promoting your home made wine and beer, here are designs from three of my Zazzle shops.
There are several of bunches of grapes, some against a blue sky - designed with vineyards in mind, and some overlaid with water droplets as if submersed in wine in a cold glass. Two of vintage paintings of grapes, both purple and white.
Some which are proving popular are those with a glassful of wine with a grapevine showing through in the background, in both horizontal and vertical format, and with burgundy, white or rosé wine.
For restaurants, chefs and bistros as well, there are cards with images of a glass of red and a garlic bulb, and for connoisseurs and fine wine suppliers, a vintage illustration of a grape vine with curly tendrils.
Last but not least, a business card for beer sellers and brewers, bars and pubs, with two sunlit glasses of lager type beer on a table outdoors.
The link below the image will take you to the collection on Zazzle. Most of these have matching labels in my stores for home brewers.

Glass ripples and abstract business cards
For something completely different, if your trade or profession is not really quantifiable - or even if it is, why not go for an abstract design? Here is a colourful range from Helikettle. I love the rippled glass effect patterns, and the pixelated designs could be used for computer based businesses or even patchwork quilters, there are also mosaics - have a look and see if one would suit your business!

Agriculture, hay and straw
New from Zazzle is the ability to group items in collections, which is certainly handy for me! Here is a collection of agricultural business cards with a theme of crops. These include square hay bales, round straw bales, growing sunflowers, maize and wheat, and haymaking using vintage machinery. These could suit a range of businesses from tractor sales and repairs, harvesting and haymaking contractors, farm supplies, and especially with the square bales, horse hay suppliers.

Home brew wine and jam labels
A lot has been happening since my last post - in this post, there's a new range of matching wine bottle labels and stickers for you home brewers. It's that time of year and we've already got a batch of peach wine, raspberry wine, pear wine and apple wine on the go. It's a great way to use up surplus fruit! There are also matching jam, preserve or conserve labels, and business cards in case you sell them! Some of the illustrations are made using old postcards by Caterina Klein, and where I haven't been able to find the fruit, using my own paintings or photos. As well as the above mentioned fruits, there are also grapes (of course!), apricot, strawberry, blueberry, blackberry, cherry, plum, redcurrant, gooseberry, blackcurrant, fig, orange, lemon (maybe no good for wine, but good for marmalade and lemon curd), and the latest addition, sloes. I've frequently made sloe gin, it's a marvelous winter warmer! Unfortunately sloes don't grow around here so we substitute redcurrants - I imagine the result is a bit like the Dutch bessenjenever. I'm sure other varieties will be added as I think of them, or by request.
The whole range of these can be seen here.

Tulip business cards
Tulips come in a variety of colours - pink, purple, red, white, orange and yellow, and shapes from formal bedding types, and frilly peony flowered to botanical species tulips. They make ideal and colourful business card templates for a whole range of businesses including florists, gardeners, plant nurseries and specialists in spring and summer bulbs. Here are some, including some named varieties such as tulipa pulchella China Coral, Apple Blossom & Pink Beauty, as well as a revised tulipa acuminata.

Some vintage tractors
Vintage or antique tractors are very popular with smallholders and collectors, so of course there is quite an industry for spares and repairs. All of our equipment (except a rotovator) was secondhand - baler, spinner (free), cutter, the previously mentioned tractor, an ancient but solid wooden trailer with hay ladders, and a lovely little folding harrow for 50 euros - I say little, but it weighs a ton! It's not surprising when a new small square baler costs 16000€ and a good secondhand one is a tenth of that!
So, for all those lovely suppliers of spares and implements, here are some business cards just for you!

Farrier and horseshoeing business card templates updated
My print on demand range of farrier business card templates has been updated again, with some new horseshoeing designs, including photographic, graphic design and vintage styles. The photographic cards show close-ups of a shoe being nailed onto a hoof and a red hot horseshoe being hammered on an anvil, as well as a vintage photograph of a village blacksmith in England. Some have a horse's head inside a horseshoe, and variations of the horseshoe on different backgrounds. I have split these into two collections shown below, with the horseshoe designs on the right.
There are several with a minimal amount of information and a blank reverse (to leave space for writing appointments etc.), but also in versions with address and other details on the back. All of these cards have templates to personalise them with your name, address and other details.
If you have any special design requests, please do contact me through the "ask this designer" link to the right of each card when opened. There is no charge for simple design or colour changes!

Basketry and canework
Do you make cane or wicker baskets out of willow or ash, woven rush or reed mats, restore traditional canework chairs? Or perhaps you run courses in these crafts. Here is a new set of business card templates to help you promote your industry or trade. Except for the woven basket photo on a dark background, all of these are digital designs. The woven matting cards have an overlay of bamboo leaves in colour, which would be equally good for dealers or makers of Asian style goods, and the others show different types of cane splint weaving.

Rural business cards on the move!
I've decided to move all of my business card templates into a new store, Rural Business, partly as I was finding it hard to find my own cards! Now I hope it's better organised and easier to find subjects. So far there are categories for agriculture, antiques, blacksmith & metalwork, botanical, carpentry, cattle, construction, farrier, fish and fishing, forestry, fruit and vegetables, equine, insects, poultry, stonemason and veterinarian. There are more categories to follow, but any that are missing can be found at my original store, ruralfrance, and all of the old links will still work.
Here are some of the new or revamped cards, I will post some from each section in the coming days. First off is agriculture (part 1). These are designed not only for farmers, but farm supplies or agricultural contractors. The first cards show a modern green combine harvester, a harvester, baler and tractor & trailer, and a tractor with a trailer collecting cut grass for silage.
The next three, a lone ear of barley or wheat standing up above the rest of the crop - I thought this might be a good image for soil analysts, but I'm sure it could be equally good for other rural businesses. Then, an image of a modern crop sprayer attachment, perhaps for fertiliser or other agricultural chemicals, and a cutout of a modern tractor and plough from the rear on a light green background.
Next is the popular field of maize card - a landscape with a close up of maize or corn plants in the foreground and rows of the crop in the background against a showery spring sky and misty trees, then two new versions of a red tractor plowing (ploughing), a close-up photo from the rear with the plow or plough turning the soil.
Following on, are six photos of a vintage tractor (ours, in fact, an International Harvester 523), with a yellow Rivierre Casalis square baler in the process of collecting and baling, one with a line of bales behind, and an old red spinner or tedder, in action with the tines throwing the hay into the air. Another is in action cutting the grass in our paddock for hay in a pretty rural landscape, and harrowing a field in winter. These are cards that could be used by smallholders, hay sellers or vintage machinery dealers and repairers.
